Fatana Baktash is a multi-talented artist, resides in VA-USA. Since early childhood, Fatana has created remarkable artworks in a variety of mediums and genres preserving the consistency of each in her series of art works.
Fatana has her MFA Degree in Fine Arts from San Francisco's Academy of Art University, and Art Diploma from Thompson Education Direct College, United States. she also graduated with a B.F.A degree from (Magna Cum Laude) Kabul University; and Maimanagi Art Institute, Afghanistan.
Fatana’s portfolio includes numerous artistic endeavors and exhibitions, a body of accolades and awards, international recognition, and ongoing commissions and sales.
She was the youngest visual artist and the first woman to be granted membership in the National Association of Artists and the first to have a permanent display of her work at the National Art Gallery of Kabul, and at the Art Gallery of Department of Fine Arts at Kabul University.
She has served as a member of the National Association of Women Artists of New York, Empowered Women International, Gallery West and National Museum of Women in the Arts. As an experienced art instructor, Fatana has taught art locally, nationally and internationally to local art centers, college and university programs.
In 1995, she established the Maimanagi Art Center in Pakistan, which provided art services and art learning opportunities for talented refugees who struggled to cope with displacement and war.
Currently, She is a freelancer artist and designer and the founder and president of an art organization (BAC) operating online.
She is also a writer and often portrays her feelings through her poetry works in her native language, Farsi. She is the author of a research book named Painting and its Status in Afghanistan, published by the Cultural Ministry of Afghanistan, she is also the founding editor of an artistic publication, called Art and Culture published in Pakistan for artists and refugee talents
Fatana’s professional qualifications, experiences and expertise in many areas of visual expression grant her the opportunity to extend her artistic vision and abilities to art business management, art history, art restoration, picture framing expertise, art entrepreneurship, 3D and sculpting, silk screening, Arabic/Farsi calligraphy, digital art, animated graphic art & design, web design, writing, and poetry.
